Thunder Find Their Way Back to Winning With Dominant Performance Against Red Lions

Final Score: Firenze Red Lions at Berlin Thunder – 3:49
Red Lions Waste a Promising Start
Firenze came out with real intent. Their opening drive lasted nearly nine and a half minutes and featured a balanced mix of rushing and passing that suggested a competitive afternoon ahead. It ended with a missed field goal, and that wasted opportunity set the tone for everything that followed.
Berlin Execute From the First Drive
The Thunder needed no second invitation. After holding Firenze to nothing on their opening possession, Berlin found the end zone and never looked back. The defense was outstanding throughout, limiting the Red Lions to just three points on the day and consistently handing the offense short fields to work with. It was a complete team performance that made the result feel comfortable almost from the opening exchanges.
Sullivan and Schumm Put on a Show
Once again, Jakeb Sullivan was the central figure for Berlin. He threw for over 260 yards and five passing touchdowns, three of them to wide receiver Niklas Schumm, who was Sullivan’s go-to target all afternoon. Seven catches, 138 yards and three touchdowns from Schumm made for a standout individual display and underlined one of the most effective quarterback-receiver connections in the league right now.
Red Lions Run Out of Answers
Firenze arrived with changes to their offense, introducing Americans Harrison Roubidoux and Keith Coffe in search of a spark. Roubidoux showed flashes of quality through the air, but neither player could shift the balance of the game. Fifteen penalties and a string of turnovers made the task impossible, and the defense once again could not keep the scoreline respectable. There is clearly still plenty of work to do in Florence.
What’s Next
The Firenze Red Lions travel to Panthers Wroclaw in Week 9. Berlin Thunder, meanwhile, welcome the Alpine Rams for what they will hope is another straightforward home game.
