The playoff picture after week 11

The playoff race is coming into sharp focus. Two teams have already been eliminated, two more are running out of time, and week 12 could deliver some major clarity at both ends of the table. Here is where things stand.

How the bracket looks

If the season ended today, Vienna Vikings would host London Warriors in one semifinal as the top seed, while Rhein Fire would welcome Panthers Wroclaw as the second seed. The four teams currently inside the playoff spots have all earned their places, but nothing is clinched yet.

Who is still fighting

Berlin Thunder and Paris Lights are the only two teams still mathematically alive outside the current top four. Alpine Rams and Firenze Red Lions have both been eliminated from playoff contention.

What week 12 could decide

Several scenarios could play out as early as next weekend. Vienna Vikings clinch the South/East Conference with a win over Panthers Wroclaw. Rhein Fire clinch the North/West Conference with a win at Berlin Thunder combined with a London Warriors loss. A win at Berlin alone is enough for the Fire to secure a playoff berth. Panthers Wroclaw clinch their own playoff spot with either a Berlin Thunder loss or a win at Vienna Vikings. And Paris Lights are eliminated from the race with a loss at London Warriors.

A weekend that could change everything

Week 12 has the potential to settle large parts of the playoff picture in one go. Conference titles, playoff berths and eliminations could all be decided before the week is out. The race is not over yet, but for some teams, it very nearly is.
