Rhein Fire add American coach Mac McWhorter to coaching staff

Rhein Fire continue to strengthen their coaching staff by adding experienced American coach Mac McWhorter. In the upcoming season of the American Football League Europe, McWhorter will focus on coaching the offensive line.

With this addition, Rhein Fire bring more experience and expertise to a key position group on offense.

Focus on the offensive line

McWhorter will work closely with the Rhein Fire offensive line, which is already considered one of the most talented units on the roster. The group was recently strengthened with the signing of former New York Jets offensive lineman Leander Wiegand.

With McWhorter’s experience and knowledge, the Fire expect the offensive line to take another step forward and play an important role in the team’s success.

Experience at top college programs

During his coaching career, McWhorter has focused almost entirely on coaching offensive linemen. He gained experience at several top college football programs in the United States, including the University of Georgia, the University of Alabama, and the University of Texas at Austin.

Working at these well-known programs allowed him to develop and train offensive linemen at a very high level.

European coaching experience

McWhorter also already has coaching experience in Europe. In 2023, he worked with the Paris Musketeers, and in 2024 he was part of the coaching staff of the Madrid Bravos.

Now he brings that international experience to Rhein Fire, where he will help develop the offensive line and contribute to the team’s preparations for the upcoming season.
