Warsaw Eagles name Michał Kołek as offensive coordinator
The Warsaw Eagles continue to build their coaching staff ahead of their inaugural American Football League Europe season. Following the announcement of Deante Battle as head coach, the Eagles have confirmed their second major appointment: Polish homegrown Michał Kołek as offensive coordinator.

A coach with a broad resume
Kołek brings experience across multiple levels of the game. He most recently served as head coach of Silesia Rebels Katowice and has been part of the Polish national team coaching staff, where he worked as offensive line coach. He has also coached at the Tychy Falcons in Poland and gained European-level experience as part of the coaching staff at the Helvetic Mercenaries. His background spans head coaching responsibility, national team service and continental competition, a combination that gives the Eagles an experienced voice on one of the most important positions in their staff.
A homegrown appointment with a message
The choice of Kołek sends a clear signal. By placing a Polish coach in a key role, the Eagles are demonstrating their commitment to homegrown leadership at every level of the organization. Kołek understands the culture, speaks the language and brings a connection to Polish players that goes beyond football knowledge. For the homegrowns who will line up for the Eagles in 2027, having a coach from their own country in a senior position matters, both in terms of communication and in terms of what it represents for Polish football more broadly.
With Battle and Kołek now in place, the Eagles are taking shape quickly. More announcements are expected in the coming weeks as they continue to build toward their first AFLE season.
