“Unter uns” vs. “Alles was zählt”: Flag Football Halftime Show at American Football League Europe Top Game
Together with Rhein Fire, American Football League Europe (AFLE) is bringing sport and entertainment together in a unique way. At the top-of-the-table clash between Rhein Fire and the Wroclaw Panthers on July 12, 2026, at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg, the halftime show will feature something special: cast members from RTL’s hit daily dramas “Unter uns” and “Alles was zählt” will face off in a charity Flag Football game, with proceeds going to the “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.”.

All In One: Sport, Entertainment, and Charity
The match will be supported by the Düsseldorf Firecats, the region’s dedicated Flag Football club and an established partner of Rhein Fire. Fans will also have the chance to meet their favorite cast members before kick-off: the actors will be available for autographs and photos in the stadium, in exchange for a small donation to the children’s aid projects of the Cologne-based media company’s foundation.
Flag Football on the Rise with NRW at the Centre of a Global Movement
The timing of this event could hardly be more fitting. Flag Football, the contact-free variant of American football, is enjoying a moment of historic significance. On August 13-16, 2026, Düsseldorf will host the IFAF World Flag 2026, the Flag Football World Championship and the largest global Flag Football event ever staged. Sixteen men’s and sixteen women’s national teams from five continents will compete, with the added stakes of Olympic qualification: two spots per category are on offer for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where Flag Football will make its historic Olympic debut.
Jens Hajek, actor of „Unter uns“, explains how the idea came about: „A few weeks ago I attended a Rhein Fire home game as a guest and was absolutely blown away by the atmosphere. In conversation with football managing director Daniel Thywissen, we came up with the idea of bringing a very special halftime show to one of their home games.“
“This is exactly the kind of event that shows what this league stands for. Having two of Germany’s most popular TV casts take to the field for charity is a moment that goes far beyond football, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Duisburg on July 12,” said Fabienne Lampe, Head of Communications of the AFLE.
The AFLE is proud to be part of this momentum. The halftime show at the Rhein Fire vs. Wroclaw Panthers game on July 12 is a celebration of the sport in all its forms, and a reminder that American football in Europe is more than a game.
