Top homegrowns of Week 7
Week 7 brought another set of standout performances from Europe’s own. Four homegrown players stepped into the spotlight this week, and each of them had a real impact on the outcome of their game.

A breakout moment for Larose
Florian Larose had shown plenty in the French Championnat Élite de Football Américain before arriving at Paris Lights, but opportunities to shine in the AFLE had been limited so far. Week 7 changed that. The Paris Lights receiver was impossible to stop in the first half against Panthers Wroclaw, hauling in three touchdowns and over 110 receiving yards as part of a Lights offensive performance that pushed the Panthers harder than most teams have managed this season. The Panthers made it their mission to shut Larose out of the game after the break, and they succeeded, but his first half was the kind of performance that puts a player firmly on the map.
Brzozowski does it all
Dawid Brzozowski is fast becoming a weekly fixture in this column, and for good reason. The Panthers running back once again showed exactly why he is one of the most difficult players to gameplan for in the entire league. His 77 rushing yards and a touchdown through the air were solid enough, but it was his work as a receiver that stood out. Seven catches for 91 yards made him Jameson Wang’s most reliable target on the day and gave the Panthers offense a dimension that most teams simply cannot match. Head coach Dave Likins called him one of the most focused players he has ever coached over the course of a season, and watching Brzozowski play, that is easy to believe.
Wis: the veteran doing it all at 38
While Brzozowski was making his mark on offense, Krzyzstof Wis was anchoring the Panthers from the other side of the ball. The 38-year-old linebacker put in another commanding performance, recording 13 tackles and playing a central role in getting the Panthers‘ comeback going after a difficult start against Paris Lights. With 37 tackles, an interception and a pass deflection on the season, Wis is having one of the best campaigns of any homegrown defender in the league. Age, clearly, is just a number.
Bovelle arrives in style
New signing Tyrell Bovelle did not take long to make his mark on the London Warriors offense. In his very first appearance for the club, the running back racked up close to 200 total yards and a touchdown, immediately forming a dangerous partnership with Andy Owusu in the London backfield. Where Owusu brings power and physicality, Bovelle adds agility and explosiveness, repeatedly moving the chains and putting the Warriors into strong field positions with his burst through the second level. If this duo continues to develop, London’s ground game could become one of the most potent in the league. For a team with its eyes on the playoffs, Bovelle’s arrival could not have come at a better time.
European talent on both sides of the ball
Four players, four different stories, but one common thread. The homegrown talent in AFLE continues to raise the level every single week. Larose proved he belongs at this level. Brzozowski reminded everyone he is one of the most complete backs in the league. Wis showed that experience and leadership still win games. And Bovelle announced himself as a player who could shape the rest of this season. Week 8 cannot come soon enough.
