Playoff picture after week 8

Eight weeks into the AFLE season, the playoff picture is taking shape. Here is a look at where every team stands and what the current standings mean for the road ahead.

The top three

Vienna Vikings lead the way on Seed 1 with a playoff probability of over 99.9%, followed by Rhein Fire on Seed 2 at 99.9% and Panthers Wroclaw on Seed 3 at 99.6%. All three teams have built a strong enough cushion that the seedings between them remain the main question to be answered over the remaining weeks of the regular season.

The race for Seed 4

Three teams are separated by just a few percentage points in the fight for the fourth and final playoff spot. Berlin Thunder currently hold Seed 4 at 34.6%, with Paris Lights at 32.1% and London Warriors at 30.8% close behind. The coming weeks will be decisive for all three franchises.

Alpine Rams and Firenze Red Lions

The Alpine Rams sit at 3.0% and would need a strong run combined with results elsewhere to keep their playoff hopes alive. Firenze Red Lions are at less than 0.1%.

If the season ended today

Semi-final 1: Berlin Thunder at Vienna Vikings
Semi-final 2: Panthers Wroclaw at Rhein Fire
