Paris Lights build early lead against Alpine Rams
The Lights started hot, putting two touchdowns on the board in the first quarter before building a 28–14 advantage. Seth Robertson was a major factor in the Paris passing game, finishing with more than 60 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the season finale.
Quarterback Evan Hillock had a strong start but endured a difficult second half. He completed only half of his passes and threw two interceptions, with one of them becoming a pick-six that helped bring Alpine back into the contest at 28 – 21 at that time.
Rams Rally turns season finale into nailbiter
The Rams started slowly but steadily worked their way back into the game. After Hillock’s pick-six made it 28–21, Alpine’s offense found another gear, producing several big plays in crunch time, pushing the game to overtime.
Kaya was at the centre of the comeback. The Rams wide receiver crossed the 1,000-yard receiving mark during the game, underlining another impressive season, before adding the biggest play of the night with a late receiving touchdown to tie the game at 28–28 with under two minutes to play in the fourth quarter. He also caught the game-winning touchdown in overtime which underlined his strong season even more. His teammates and fans even shouted „MVP“ after he caught the game-winner.
Overtime Awaits in AFLE Week 14
What looked like a comfortable Paris victory has become an overtime-battle with the Rams taking the victory in Week 14 after fighting their way back into the game. Both teams have already shown plenty of fight in the final regular-season game of the inaugural AFLE campaign, but today the Rams showed that they wanted it a little bit more than their opponent.
