Panthers Wroclaw cruise past Firenze Red Lions in Week 6
The Panthers Wroclaw continue to establish themselves as one of the top teams in the American Football League Europe. In Week 6, the Panthers overwhelmed the Firenze Red Lions with 37 degrees celsius (98 degrees Fahrenheit) with a dominant first-half performance, racing to 41-point in the first half before resting many of their starters in the second half on the way to another convincing victory. The win improves Wroclaw to 4-1, while Firenze remains winless at 0-4.
Panthers build an unstoppable first-half lead
The game was effectively decided before halftime. Wroclaw’s offense scored 41 points in the opening two quarters, consistently winning the battle at the line of scrimmage and capitalizing on nearly every possession. With such a commanding advantage, the Panthers coaching staff was able to rotate in backup players throughout much of the second half, keeping key contributors fresh while still comfortably closing out their fourth consecutive victory.
QB Jameson Wang and RB Bartosz Wosch led the Panthers offense
Although the Panthers took their foot off the gas after halftime, quarterback Jameson Wang efficiently directed the offense early, completing 12 of his 15 while helping Wroclaw build its massive lead. On the ground, running back Bartosz Wosch carried the rushing attack with over 100 yards on the ground, repeatedly moving the chains behind a dominant offensive line.
Red Lions unable to keep pace once again
Firenze struggled to generate offensive momentum against the Panthers‘ defense. Quarterback Matthew McKay completed only six out of his 21 passing attempts, while Brandon Belgrave led the rushing attack with 10 carries for 78 yards on the ground.
Defensively, the Red Lions had their hands full with a very balanced and sharp Panthers offense that was able to score on the ground and through the air with a lot of different weapons at display.
Panthers continue their winning streak
Four straight victories have firmly established the Panthers as one of the AFLE’s hottest teams, right after the Vienna Vikings. After putting the game out of reach before halftime, Wroclaw demonstrated both its offensive firepower and roster depth by allowing its backups valuable playing time without ever letting Firenze back into the contest.
For the Red Lions, the search for a first win continues. For the Panthers, the momentum keeps growing as they head into the second half of the regular season with a 4-1 record and championship ambitions.
