Offensive tackle Mamadou Kapernik signs with the Firenze Red Lions

The Firenze Red Lions have added another piece to their offensive line, signing Italian homegrown Mamadou Kapernik. The 26-year-old brings a wealth of domestic experience to a unit that is being built to protect quarterback Matthew McKay.

A reliable presence in Italian football

Kapernik spent five seasons with the Lions Bergamo before moving to the Rhinos Milano this year, where he has established himself as a reliable and physical part of the offensive line. His experience across two of Italy’s well-known clubs gives him a strong foundation and the kind of consistency that the Red Lions are looking for up front.

With Kapernik now on board, the Firenze Red Lions continue to build a deep and experienced offensive line ahead of their debut season in 2026.
