London Warriors introduce Tony Allen as head coach for inaugural AFLE season

The London Warriors have announced Tony Allen as their head coach for their first ever season in the American Football League Europe. The appointment brings one of the most respected and experienced figures in British American football to the helm of the Warriors as they prepare to make history.

A giant of British American football

Allen brings over 35 years of coaching and player development experience to the role, making him one of the most decorated coaches in the history of the sport in the United Kingdom. As the long-standing head coach of the London Warriors, he has guided the club to multiple BritBowl championships and national titles across youth, men’s and women’s football, building one of the most successful programs in British American football history.

Founding the NFL Academy

Beyond his work with the Warriors, Allen made history as the founding head coach of the NFL Academy in London, the first of its kind in Europe. The program blends elite football training with academic achievement and personal development, creating pathways for young British athletes to access opportunities in the US college system and beyond. That pioneering work has helped shape an entire generation of British football players and coaches.

A proven developer of talent

Allen’s impact extends far beyond wins and losses. As a former Director of International Player Development at NFL International, he has helped hundreds of young people unlock their potential both on and off the field. His deep belief in the power of disciplined coaching, education and mentorship to change lives has defined his approach throughout his career.

With Tony Allen leading the way, the London Warriors head into their inaugural AFLE season with one of the most qualified and respected coaches in European football at the helm.
