London Warriors add national team defensive lineman Cedric Akrong to growing roster

The London Warriors continue to build one of the most formidable front sevens in the AFLE, signing British defensive lineman Cedric Akrong. The 27-year-old returns to the Warriors and adds yet another experienced and decorated player to a defensive unit that is rapidly taking shape.

A proven winner with national team pedigree

Akrong brings impressive credentials to the Warriors‘ defensive line. A three-time national champion and member of the Great Britain national team, he is one of the most accomplished homegrown defensive linemen in British football. At 1.95m and 124kg, he also brings a powerful physical presence that will be difficult for opposing offensive lines to handle.

A front seven built to dominate

With Akrong now on board, the picture of the London Warriors‘ front seven is becoming clearer and more impressive with every signing. Alongside the likes of Jamaal Fredericks, who came out of retirement to join the cause, Emmanuel Falola and the rest of the Warriors‘ defensive group, the London franchise is assembling a unit with serious depth, experience and championship pedigree. The combination of national team players, championship winners and professional experience gives head coach Tony Allen plenty of quality to work with as the Warriors prepare for their first ever AFLE season.
