American Football League Europe Attempts World Record Title for Most Simultaneous Cheerleading Basket Tosses at the AFLE Gold Bowl 2026
The American Football League Europe (AFLE) is turning its 2026 season finale into a spectacle. At the AFLE Gold Bowl on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg, Germany, halftime becomes the stage for an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title attempt: hundreds of cheerleading and dance athletes from across Germany and Europe will perform a fully choreographed mass dance as the entertainment centerpiece of the show, while a dedicated group of athletes attempts to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most simultaneous cheerleading basket tosses, broadcast live on free-to-air TV on Sport1 and on the worldwide streaming platform AFLE+.

Most Simultaneous Cheerleading Basket Tosses: An Official Record Attempt
At the heart of the halftime show is an attempt to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most simultaneous cheerleading basket tosses. The record currently stands at 103 simultaneous basket tosses, set on 25 March 2017 by International Pacific University in Okayama, Japan. In Duisburg, at least 104 stunt groups will need to execute a basket toss at the exact same moment to break it. An official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ adjudicator will be on site throughout the event and will announce the result live inside the stadium on the day, making the halftime show a genuine, officially adjudicated record attempt rather than a scripted show piece. The record attempt is embedded in a fully choreographed mass cheerleading dance performed by hundreds of athletes from across Germany and Europe, a spectacular entertainment centerpiece that frames the record attempt for fans in the stadium and at home, with sporting history and show history made at the same time.
A Full Championship Weekend in Duisburg

Andreas Nommensen, Commissioner of the AFLE, said: “We want to give everyone a moment they have never seen before: a championship final with a real world record attempt at its heart, live on free TV. This is the stage European American football, cheerleading, and the fans deserve.”
