American Football League Europe Announces Community Flag Football Tournament Ahead of the AFLE Gold Bowl 2026
The American Football League Europe (AFLE) today announced it will host a Community Flag Football Tournament on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in the run-up to the AFLE Gold Bowl 2026. Open to anyone aged 10 and up, the fun tournament will take place in the vicinity of the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg, home of the AFLE Gold Bowl 2026, and is designed to bring the local community together ahead of the league’s inaugural championship game.

Open to Everyone, Teams Formed on the Day
No prior team registration is required. Participants will be grouped into teams on-site before kickoff, making it easy for newcomers to jump in and experience American football for the first time. Open to players aged 10 and up, the tournament is built around fun, non-contact flag football, with teams then playing against each other throughout the day.
The tournament will take place at the Leichtathletikstadion Duisburg, Margaretenstraße 20, 47055 Duisburg.
Players and fans who want to take part can find all information and sign up at https://experience.aflepro.com. If you have any questions, please send them to community@aflepro.com.
A Full Day of Football Fun
To round out the day and carry the excitement straight into the league’s biggest event, every participant in the Community Flag Football Tournament will receive two tickets to the AFLE Gold Bowl 2026, taking place the very next day, Sunday, September 6, at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena. Kickoff is at 3:30 PM. Ahead of the game, participants and their companion will be welcomed to an exclusive Sideline Experience, followed by a stadium tour before heading to their seats in the stands to watch the game.
Andreas Nommensen, Commissioner of the AFLE, said: “The AFLE is about building a genuine football community across Europe, and our Community Flag Football Tournament is exactly that in action. We want fans of all ages and experience levels to come out, play the game themselves, and then celebrate together with us at the AFLE Gold Bowl the very next day.”
