About the Event

The first AFLE game away from home

For the first time in league history, an AFLE regular season game is played on neutral ground — outside the home markets of both competing franchises. Rhein Fire and the London Warriors leave their stadiums behind and meet on an island in the Mediterranean.

It is Week 14, the last stretch before the postseason, and both teams arrive with playoff football on the horizon. That makes the Battle at the Beach more than an exhibition on a nice backdrop: it is a full-weight league fixture with a playoff preview attached.
